Term dates and times for August 2021
Traditional team building day “Clash of the Classes” on Thursday the 19th of August:
I am finally on site permanently at IES Huddinge and am really looking forward to meeting and to getting know you everyone!
On my visit to the school on the 15th of April I met many very nice and talented students as well as dedicated teachers and staff. It is with great joy and humility that I take on the role of Principal at IES Huddinge, which is a very well-run school where students learn and develop in an extraordinary way. Throughout my school career, I have visited, seen and worked at very many different schools. Both as a teacher, a project manager for development projects and as support for school management. Most recently as assistant principal with great operational responsibility for the last four years in Saltsjöbaden, Nacka Municipality.
I have learnt that IES Huddinge has students who show very good academic results and strong knowledge development. A calm and safe study environment with a strong and competent student health team that, with the support of all competent staff, make the school really live up to the IES standard.
I am convinced that IES's three main pillars, high academic expectations, a safe and secure study environment and mastering the English language, together with a staff group of very high quality, are important reasons for the success of many students who have attended IES Huddinge exhibited.
Together with all students, parents and staff, I will continue the successful work that Mrs Segerstedt and previous school management have accomplished and I look forward to getting to know everyone and celebrate new successes with you!
Internationella Engelska skolan Huddinge
A huge thanks to Edin Dzemat, one of Sweden's top chefs arranged by our Home Economics teacher Ms Begovic as surprise for our year 9 students with a wonderful message to inspire our students to do their best in the competition and his wise words about what it takes to win!
It is great having everyone back in school.
We have had a very good start to the new school year here at IES Huddinge. Even though we have had to do things a bit differently, due to the pandemic, the atmosphere is at its best.
I have enjoyed getting to know our new students and to hear that our returning students are happy with how the year has started. In the coming weeks the management team will continue to visit lessons to see how our 20 classes are doing.
We have started off the term with focus on getting to know each other and to ensure that we have an environment conducive for learning.
In the coming weeks we will involve the students in our quality work and make sure they get to take part in following up on last year's targets, as well as setting up new goals for this school year. The results of this work will be shared with you here on SchoolSoft later.
I look forward to a productive year together with all students and staff here at IES Huddinge.
Order, structure and safety are necessary prerequisites for learning.
Children should learn to command the English language, not just know it, at an early age.
Our conviction is that every child can achieve success irrespective of social background.
